Rays Franchise Postseason Appearances

Last Updated: August 31, 2026

The Tampa Bay franchise has reached the postseason nine times. That count covers the Devil Rays and Rays years together. Two of those runs ended in an American League pennant: 2008, the first October that rewrote the club, and 2020, the second World Series appearance. The franchise has not won a World Series.

Nine appearances is the fact. The feeling around those nine is the history desk’s job. This page is the ledger: how often Tampa Bay has been in the tournament, how often it played for the league, and the title that is still missing.

When the club adds another October, this page gets a new last-updated date. We will not republish a new “postseason history” article each time the bracket comes out.

Franchise postseason totals are taken from the Baseball-Reference Rays pitching/team leaderboards header (playoff appearances, pennants, and world championships).
